The Reason Kentuckiana Authors was Created
Atty Eve, the founder of Kentuckiana Authors, also answered some questions for me.
1) What were your reasons for starting the Kentuckiana Authors group?
I started Kentuckiana Authors out of frustration. I would pick up the paper and find out I missed a book signing or book fair. I would have to go to various websites to find out where and when they were. At the time, there was no central listing for all the events.
Actually, I needed friends . . .
2) Has this group lived up to your expectations? Has it done better than you thought it would?
Being a writer I’m a dreamer. The group has grown more than I was expecting, but now that we have the numbers, I’m expecting us to do great things. We have tried and failed a bit along the way, but we’re always ready to jump back in.
3) What are your future plans for this group?
This year we’re revamping our website, obviously, and with that we’ll have a central listing for all events around Kentuckiana. We’re also starting a scholarship contest for graduating high schoolers to enter. We’re hoping this contest will go nationwide and will bring publicity for our local authors.
