Amy Metz – The Goose Pimple Junction Mystery Series

Amy Metz is the author of the Goose Pimple Junction mystery series. She is a former first-grade teacher and the mother of two grown sons. When not writing, enjoying her family, or surfing Pinterest and Facebook, Amy can usually be found with a mixing spoon, camera, or book in one hand and a glass of sweet tea in the other. Amy lives in Louisville, Kentucky, and loves a good Southern phrase.

She attended Centre College and graduated from the University of Kentucky with a BA in Elementary Education. She taught first grade until her first child was born then motherhood and volunteer work took up her time. When her mother was diagnosed with dementia in 2009, she turned to writing as therapy. Needing an escape from life and from reliving it through writing about it (and desperately needing to laugh), she began writing a humorous mystery that eventually became Murder & Mayhem in Goose Pimple Junction—the first book in a series of humorous southern mysteries set in the fictional town of Goose Pimple Junction.

Murder & Mayhem is based on real-life events that occurred in her family during the 1930s. Amy grew up hearing stories about her family’s past—one a cold case murder—and she always thought someone should write a book about them. She finally did, and sad that the one murder was never solved, she solved it fictionally.

Amy has been richly blessed with two sons—one married and one pursuing his master’s degree—and a daughter-in-law. Amy’s debut novel, Murder & Mayhem in Goose Pimple Junction, was first published in August 2012, with the second edition released in September 2014. Heroes & Hooligans in Goose Pimple Junction followed in December 2014, and Short & Tall Tales in Goose Pimple Junction was published in 2015. Rogues & Rascals in Goose Pimple Junction launched in May 2016.
