John Cosper – Righteous Insanity

John Cosper is an author, sketch writer, screenwriter, stage and film director, and professional wrestling historian. He spent more than two decades as the head writer and director of the Christian drama ministry Righteous Insanity, and he has produced more than 100 short films including the Fluffy trilogy and the Clive the Zombie puppet films. He also taught drama at Barret Traditional Middle School, St. Rita’s Catholic School in Louisville, and Christian Academy of Indiana.

In 1999 John released his first science fiction novel The Shell Collector. He has since released several more science fiction works including Space Kat, Martian Queen, Space Monster, Colony, Cave World, and Return to Cave World. His short story collection Robot/Girlfriend has spawned a half dozen short films, including the award winners Tolerance, Out of My Mind, and The Telemarketer.

He also released a collection of kids stories called Tales from the Dad Side and an illustrated kids book called “Frank Jordan: Evil Snowman.” His most recent fiction work is called The Big Bad Goodnight, a collection of reimagined fairy tales inspired in equal parts by film noir and Mad Magazine.

In 2014, John released his first nonfiction work Bluegrass Brawlers: The Story of Professional Wrestling in Louisville. The book opened the door for John as a wrestling historian and a biographer, and he now has a dozen wrestling books to his credit. He authored a second book about Louisville’s wrestling called Louisville’s Greatest Show, and he wrote or co-authored the biographies and autobiographies of Dr. D David Schultz, Mad Man Pondo, Lord Leslie Carlton, and Louisville-born African-American superstar “The Black Panther” Jim Mitchell. He is also collaborating with the independent wrestling faction known as The Bomb Shelter on a new series of young adult novels.

John continues to write fiction and comedy as well as stories about professional wrestling, and he’s still creating short films. He lives in Southern Indiana with his wife and kids. When he’s not writing, he’s probably hanging with the family, reading, cooking, or watching TV. Favorite things to watch include movies, ice hockey and, of course, professional wrestling.
