Billy’s goal is to help and encourage others, to reach the world with the good news of hope he has found on his journey of faith. The answers to the issues of life can be found in the Bible, and it is his hope his books will peak an interest in reading and searching the Bible for the answers, especially in these troubling times.
He retired from the Air Force in 1988 as a master sergeant. Billy has been a chaplain and evangelist at the Bullitt County Detention Center for over eighteen years and is now lead chaplain for Truckstop Ministries at the Pilot location in Lebanon Junction, KY. He also sings Southern gospel at the local nursing home and senior center as well as local churches.
His philosophy is “Everybody has a story to tell, and unless we tell it, it has no value.” That’s why he titled his first book Kiss and Tell Your Story. It’s an inspirational study of faith in a series of short chapters covering many of the issues we face today while viewing them from a Biblical perspective. “Kiss” in the title stands for “Keep It Simple, Saints” and tell your story.
Billy says, “I rededicated my life to Jesus Christ in October of 1988, and to the best of my ability, have been living for him since. I believe God gave me the inspiration to write these books. I have an inquiring mind, and this series of books looks at things God has revealed to me over the years. There’s humor and heartache and truth—what more could anyone want? There are messages of hope for the hopeless and help for the helpless, messages for those who are weary, struggling, or need encouragement. It’s a fresh look into the pathway of finding answers and is meant to inspire you to reach beyond yourself.
