Who are you and where did you come from?
Hello. I am Karyn Sallee. I grew up in central KY and have lived here the majority of my life. I would love to tell you I came from some incredible super race with super intelligence and have lived an exciting super amazing life. Mostly I have lived a super amazing average life and have raised some super amazing human children. My house has a revolving door where we have dogs and kids coming and going constantly. My husband and I are normal people who push our kids to do inhuman amounts of stuff so they can be the next super race. However, mostly they eat chips and leave their wet towels lying all over our house so I have to stop writing and pick up after them.

Where do you want to be in 10 years?
In 10 years I would like to be right next to my husband enjoying watching our kids making mistakes. Not because we want them to fail, we just take such immeasurable joy in seeing them struggle through what they thought should be so easy. Then we want to be able to tell them "I told you so." Not really. We really want to see them be way more successful than we have been and want to see them graced with fortune beyond what we could ever provide.

What is the biggest mistake you've made in your life?
Getting married to this boy in my neighborhood in 4th grade. We had a garden ceremony, next to the cabbages and green beans, in Diane's back yard. It was so beautiful and worth the cherry Kool Aid we had at the reception. Except my now husband makes fun of me because I was once married to the idiot who tried to steal a big blue postal box in our small town. Yup. It was a federal crime. Don't muck with the mail. He is a notorious criminal now.

What would you do for a Klondike bar?
I would show you my Secret Wrestling Mom Powers.

Favorite Memory: I like thinking back to my Grateful Dead days. Driving along the interstate with the windows down and the sun shining through the dusty windshield. The not knowing exactly who I would meet or where I would end up was thrilling. Of course then I think about it and realize just how lucky I was never to get into any serious trouble because I could have easily been arrested, mugged, raped, killed. It was a very stupid thing. Luck was definitively on my side.

Favorite Place To Write
I can write anywhere. I like to sit where it is totally quiet some days, but on others I might be sitting in a noisy gym waiting on the next wrestling match. I sometimes park my car in the driveway and sit turning over ideas while the sun warms me. I think ideally,I do a lot of driving. Therefore, I would like a bubble around me so I could dictate while I drive my kids everywhere. I find driving a waste of my creative time.

Greatest Inspiration
I draw inspiration from everyday people. I think everyone has a story and I want to tell them all and maybe embellish it and twist it up a bit.

Best Elevator Pitch For Latest Book. 300 words or less
I have this story about a girl who is left for dead...Yeah a little cliche but I think I can do it right. She has no memory of who she is. All she has to go on to figure out who she is and where she came from are her drawings of people and places that she makes. So she sets out to discover her past by following her drawings. To survive along the way, she breaks into houses so she can feel connected to people because she is so alone. That is until she runs into Dex the mystery man from her drawings. She is afraid he may have had reason to leave her for dead in an alley but she is inexplicably drawn to him. Dex is struggling with the death of his sister. However, when he finds Rush he can't reconcile the girl he finds with the cold blooded murder that he believes her to be.
